Valentine Card Day 2

This is my second creation using my scraps that have been just sitting in my scrap bin. I made this card to give to my secret buddy today at work. For the large heart I used my Cricut Expression and cut out the scalloped heart using Whisper White CS. I then used the Brayer and Rose Red ink to give the heart its color. Had a lot of fun looking through scraps and finding new ways to use them!

Valentines Card 1 Flower

Happy Valentine's Week! I have created some cards with love and friendship in mind. This card I made using retired CS and cleaning out my scrap bin. I started with a standard A2 card and added retired DSP as the background. I used the scalloped circles to create the flower in the center and cut the edges with scissors to create the flowered look. I used Whisper White Satin ribbon to bring the draw of attention to center focal point of the card. It was so much fun going through my old DSP, CS and scraps to create this one! Sketch Frenzy Friday Challenge #12712

It feels good to be back at the blogs and participating in challenges again, here is a great one from Sketch Frenzy Friday I made this card with a friend in mind. I loved using the Triple Doily Punch to create this card. Instead of doing a standard A2 card I made a 5-1/4" by 5-1/4" card using Chocolate Chip CS. I then layered CS in Old Olive and Crushed Curry. I used retired Garden Gala DSP to create the punched images. I cut a 3/8" piece of Pumpkin Pie Grosgrain ribbon and layered on top of the Crushed Curry CS. I used Friends Never Fade and Word Play SS for the stamped sentiments.
I LOVED making this card, thank you for the challenge and it feels good to be back!

Friends Never Fade

Hello and I am so happy to be back and card making again! I decided in order to get back on track I needed to get some creative juices flowing. I usually look at the challenge blogs but this time I decided to just go with my gut! For this card I used my wedding colors and the theme. I started with a standard A2 card in Crumb Cake. I then took a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Wisteria Wonder CS and used the polka dot embossing folder to emboss. I then used the Fun Flowers die cut and took pieces of Chocolate Chip and Wisteria Wonder CS and only embossed the Wisteria Wonder flower pieces with the polka dot die. I used the Doily Triple layer punch and a 5-1/2" piece of Chocolate Chip CS to create the bottom layers. I then layered 5/8" Whisper White Satin ribbon and the 3/8" Wisteria Wonder Ruffled Ribbon on top of the punched Chocolate Chip CS. I used Basic Pearls Jewels to create additional dimension to this card. I used the Friends Never Fade SS and stamped the sentiment using Crumb Cake ink.

Hello and thank you all for being so patient. 2011 has been a year of many things coming my way. I had a few personal family issues to deal with, got married, and had a honeymoon! I had to take some time off from my love of cardmaking and scrapbooking to take care of a few things and starting next week I am back and ready to take on the world of card making again! I hope you are excited for what will be in store! Thank you for being loyal followers and I look forward to sharing my new creations with you.

Pirate Thank You Card

A friend of mine asked me if I would make a Pirate themed thank you card, and this is the end result! This card was so much fun to make! I started with a standard A2 card in Basic Black CS. I then layered a sheet of 4" x 5-1/4/" Rockabilly DSP. I used Black Satin Grosgrain ribbon to hold the sentiment. The sentiment was from the Thank You Kindly SS. I used Whisper White and Basic Black DSP with the large oval punch and scalloped oval punch. To hold the pirate I layered 3" x 4-1/2" Basic Black CS and a 2-3/4" by 4" piece of Whisper White CS. For the pirate I used the 1-3/8" circle punch for the head and hat. For the body I used the large oval punch with Real Red and Basic Black CS. For the legs and arms I used the word window punch to create the legs and arms. The eyes and patch were hand drawn and cut. The arms I used the small oval punch from the Clearance rack. I cut strips of Whisper White to layer on the Real Red CS for the shirt.

Penguin Christmas Card!

I created this card for a friend of mine who wanted some Christmas cards to send to their family and friends. I wanted to use the owl punch to create penguins and found this was the perfect time to do that. For this card I started with a standard A2 Card in Real Red CS. I then took Brocade Blue and used the Top Note die and Starburst embossing folder to create the texture. I stamped the background with the Season of Joy SS. I used the Warmest of Wishes Hostess SS for the sentiment. For the inside of the card I used the Many Merry Messages SS and stamped the sentiment in Old Olive. I had so much fun with this card, thank you for stopping by. Sorry I have been on such a long hiatus, I am a week away from my wedding, once that is over with it will be back to card making!!

Wedding Thank You Card

With our wedding approaching soon, I have been hard at work to get our thank you cards done. I decided to do a simple design for this card. For these I am using the Note cards and Envelopes set. Our wedding colors are chocolate brown and lavender, I found Chocolate Chip and Wisteria Wonder to be the colors of choice for this card. I cut a 5" by 3-1/4" piece of Chocolate Chip CS to use as the second layer. I then took Wisteria Wonder ruffled ribbon and Whisper White satin ribbon and layered 2, 2" pieces and placed them on the diagonal of the card. I used the 2-3/8" scalloped circle punch and the 1-3/4" circle punch to create the sentiment layer in the middle. I used the Elegant Thank you Stamp for this card.
I am so excited to be sending these cards to all our guests for our upcoming wedding!

LOVING the Fall weather and rain we are having here in Austin, it has really inspired my Fall themed cards and thank you to Stamping 411 for another great weekly challenge to help the creativity soar!
For this card I used a Standard A2 card with Pumpkin Pie CS as my base. I then layered a 4" x 5" piece of Crushed Curry CS and stamped in the leaf with coordinating ink. I have been loving stamping the background of the cards lately with leaves!! I then took a 3" x 3/1/2" piece of Very Vanilla CS and used it stamp my images and sentiment. I used three different stamp sets for this piece: Day of Gratitude, Falling Leaves, and Always Thankful. I colored the stamped image with Watercolor wonder and blender pens. I then took a piece of Rich Razzleberry and cut it to 4-1/4" x 1-1/2" and layered it towards the bottom of the card. The used the Leaves #2 Die Cut and cut out the Maple Leaf in Soft Suede. I also stamped am image from the Falling Leaves SS with coordinating ink on a 1" circle using Crushed Curry CS.

SFF Challenge and Friday Mashup Challenge

Hello and I am welcoming myself back after a little hiatus to take care of some personal family business. I am back and ready to take on some new crafts and challenges. Today I decided to get into the Fall spirit and work out a card that would meet 2 blog challenges:

I was inspired by the sketch challenge from SFF and wanted to get into the Fall spirit after searching some more blogs for inspiration I came across Friday Mashup and realized I could use this card for both challenges. I decided to use 2 stamp sets for this challenge, Day of Gratitude and Always Thankful. I used a standard A2 card and used Crushed Curry as the base color for this card. I then layered with a 4" x 5" piece of Bravo Burgundy CS and stamped the acorn using coordinating ink. I then took the 1-1/4" Striped grosgrain ribbon and attached to the Bravo Burgundy layer of the card. I used Cajun Craze and cut 1-1/2" squares and stamped the leaf image with coordinating ink. I used Soft Suede CS and cut a 2" square to create the center "Grateful" sentiment. I layered with a 1-3/4" piece of Cajun Craze CS and stamped image with coordinating ink. For the inside I used Very Vanilla CS cut at 4" x 5" and stamped my sentiments on the paper.
It feels good to be back and I promise to not take such a long break next time! I missed my stamping!

2 Challenge Card

Well it has been a creative Monday for sure! I have been back on the blog sites and after accomplishing this morning's 3 challenge card, I found 2 more blogs that I could create a card for. This one was an unexpected Christmas colored card! Thank you Inkspirations and Sketch Frenzy Friday for posting these challenges!

I started off using Chocolate Chip CS as my base and a standard A2 card. I then decided to keep the card clean and simple thanks to the sketch challenge and cut the Rich Razzleberry, Pretty In Pink, and Whisper White into 3" x 2-1/2" pieces. I then embossed the Rich Razzleberry and Pretty In Pink CS with the new Snow Burst Embossing folder. I used a retired ss called Snow Buddies as the set for all the stamped images except for the sentiment, that came from the retired Occasional Quotes SS. I used the three different colors for to ink different parts of the stamped images. I attached three mini jingle bells to the bottom right of the card to add some holiday sound!

3 challenge card

Hello and Happy Monday!
Sorry it has been a little bit, unfortunately I have was taking care of some family matters and was unable to get some crafting done.
I am back and ready to go and this week I decided to start it off by creating a card that would satisfy 3 blog challenges!
For this card I decided to use fall leaves as my theme. The wonderful challenges at: SUO Challenges, The Paper Players, and Stamping 411 helped me get into the fall mood.
I started with a standard A2 card and used Bravo Burgundy as the main color selection for the card. I then layered a 4" x 5" piece of CS in Cajun Craze, I then took a 3-1/2"x 4" piece of CS in More Mustard and used the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing folder to give it some dimension. I used the Leaves #2 die and Bravo Burgundy to create the leaves on this card, I decided to emboss them again with the same folder to add dimension to the leaves. I then used a 1-1/4" of striped cajun craze grosgrain ribbon for the bottom. The stamped sentiment came from the Always Thankful SS.
I loved sitting at home today on a cloudy day and really getting into this card.

HSS Halloween Theme Challenge #86

Hello and Happy Friday! Sorry I have been away for a little bit, work and wedding planning has kept me busy! I am back with a card I created for a parent of one of my student's and also realized it goes along with the HSS theme challenge this week.
For this card I needed to create a card that would hold a 3" x 5" photo. I decided I would use Basic Black CS and create a standard A2 card. I then took the Frightful Sight DSP and cut a piece at 4" x 5-1/4" as the background. I used the retired slit punch to create a holder for the photo. I stamped the images using Staz On Jet Black from the retired Boo To You SS and colored with Watercolor Wonder and used the blender pen. I used the Two Tag Die cut first in Rich Razzleberry, then stamped the images on Whisper White and punched out the stamped CS and placed it on the Rich Razzleberry. I only used Snail on the bottom of the tag so the photo could be removed. For the inside I stamped the sentiment using Rich Razzleberry and Basic Black and used Old Olive to distress the edges.
For this card I used a photo of my little love, Libby from a previous Halloween!

4 challenge card!

WOW! I can't believe I was able to do a card that covered 4 challenges this week! I got my Simply Scored tool today and was so excited to use it for a new card. I also got the Always Thankful SS and wanted to get to work quickly with it. I made this card that satisfied 4 different blog challenges: Hand Stamped Sentiments, SPCC, SUO Fall Color Challenge and Inkspirations!
First I took Early Espresso CS and cut a standard A2 card. I then layered a piece of 4" x 5" Pumpkin Pie CS and embossed with the Vintager Wallpaper folder. I cut another piece of Early Espresso to 3" x 4-1/2" and embossed that as well with the Vintager Wallpaper. I cut 5/8" Daffodil Delight Grossgrain ribbon for the ribbon elements. I stamped the larger image with Early Espresso Ink and then used Watercolor Wonder crayons and the blender pen to color the image using Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight. I stamped the sentiment with Early Espresso. I used Stampin Dimensionals to add depth to the images.

Hello and Happy Wednesday! This creation comes from a challenge put on by The Paper Players. I loved the clean and simple idea for this challenge. I also have a baby shower I am going to this Saturday and this card was perfect for the challenge! I got the onesie template from Stamp That and thank you very much for this creation, it was perfect for what I wanted to do for my friend's card. I used Bashful Blue CS for the base of the card and followed the cutting directions in the tutorial. I used Chocolate Chip Taffeta ribbon for the middle of the card. I stamped the image using the Easy Events SS by first stamping with Staz On jet black ink and using Watercolor Wonder in Brights to color the image. Thank you for stopping by and looking!

Day of Gratitude Swap Card

Hello and Happy Sunday! Today I worked on a card for an upcoming card swap that will happen at my next downline meeting. I received my Day of Gratitude SS yesterday and have been having so much fun playing around with it. I was inspired by an earlier post I created for HSS using a Monochromatic theme and decided to just add a different shade of brown to this card. For the outside of the card I started with a standard A2 card in Chocolate Chip. I then cut a 5" x 4" piece of Very Vanilla CS and stamped the large image from the SS in Close to Cocoa. I stamped the sentiment from the retired Holiday Best SS and used the scalloped oval punch to punch it out. I took Chocolate Chip CS and used the Leaves #2 and Final Press Embossing folder to create the leaves on the front of the card. I then took the scalloped edge punch with Close to Cocoa CS and cut it to 5" by 1-1/2" once the scalloped edge had been cut. I used Stampin Dimensionals to adhere the leaves and sentiment to the front of the card for depth. For the inside I cut another 5" x 4" piece of Very Vanilla CS and stamped the sentiment in Close to Cocoa and the leaf in Chocolate Chip.

I am ready for fall and this card helped me get that fall feeling!

HSS Fall Theme Challenge #84

Hello and Happy Stamping Saturday! Today's creation comes from HSS and another great theme challenge. I love the Fall and just got my Day of Gratitude set and was excited to use it for this challenge. I started by taking a standard A2 card in Soft Suede. I then layered a 4-3/4" x 4" piece of Pumpkin Pie and embossed it using the Elegant lines folder. I then cut a piece of 4" x 1-1/2" piece of Old Olive CS and attached Chocolate Chip ribbon taffeta ribbon to the top. I stamped the leaf and acorn image on the Old Olive CS using Old Olive ink. I then stamped the larger image in Crushed Curry and cut out the image and used Stampin Dimensionals to add pop to the image. For the inside of the card I cut Whisper White in 4" x 5" and stamped the greeting in Soft Suede. I used Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive ink and stamped off the corner of the CS with the leaf and acorn image. I am now ready for fall time and ready for my favorite holiday, Thanksgiving!

Happy Tuesday! Today's creation comes from The Paper Players. I am getting in Halloween mode and am finding unique ways to create Halloween cards that are a little different then most. I loved this color challenge because it felt very Halloweeny to me! For this card I used Basic Grey as the base card 5"x 5". I then layered a piece of Rich Razzleberry cut at 4-3/4" x 4-3/4". I embossed the CS with the Spider Web Embossing folder. I then layered a piece of Whisper White cut at 4-3/4" x 2" and added a piece of Old Olive Striped Grossgrain ribbon to the bottom. I used the Scardey Cat CM SS for the stamped images on this card. Images were stamped with Basic Grey and Rich Razzleberry Ink. I used the 2-3/8" Scalloped Circle punch and the 1-3/4" scalloped circle punch for the upper right design of the card.
This card was a lot of fun, thank you Paper Players for another great challenge!

Sketch Frenzy Friday Challenge #SFF090911

Hello and happy stamping! I made this card for a friend of mine who asked me to do an anniversary card for them. They told me his girlfriend likes pinks and purples so I decided to pull out some of my favorites and use this awesome blog challenge from Sketch Frenzy Friday as my inspiration.
The base of the card is Pretty In Pink CS cut at 5" x 4-3/4". I then cut pieces of Wisteria Wonder and Retired Sending Love DSP at 4-3/4" by 3" and layered them together. I used Retired Polka Dot Rich Razzleberry Grossgrain ribbon layered with Pretty In Pink grossgrain ribbon to tie the two together. I of course grabbed my favorite SS Delicate Doilies and went to town stamping in Wisteria Wonder, Pretty In Pink, and Retired Pixie Pink. I used the 2-1/2" circle punch for the largest image, the 1-3/4" scallop circle punch, and the 1-3/8" circle punch for the images. For the Happy Anniversary I stamped the sentiment with the Bons Moments SS (retired) and You and Moi (retired) SS. I used the large oval punch and scallop oval punch for these sentiments. All punched images were adhered to CS with Stampin Dimensionals.
For the inside of the card I used the Retired Hostess Occasional Quotes SS and You and Moi SS. Again stamped these two sentiments using Pixie Pink and Wisteria Wonder.

Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge #220

Happy Saturday! Time for another great sketch challenge from Stamping 411. For this card I made a standard A2 card using Lovely Lilac as my base color. I then took retired Cottage Wall DSP and cut 1 piece at 4" x 4" and another at 4" by 2-3/4". I used the flourish side for the top half of the card and the green side for the bottom half. I layered the pieces together and used retired Soft Suede Polka Dot ribbon to add the two pieces together. For the additional layering piece I took 2-3/4" x 4" piece of Lovely Lilac and adhered it to the main card using stampin dimensionals. I cut another 2-1/4" x 3-3/4" of the DSP and layered it on top of the Lovely Lilac CS. I took retired Sending Love Epoxy Brads and used them as the brad element to the card. This DSP was always one of my favorite. I loved the color combinations in this set and the patterns. I used the 2-3/8" scallop circle punch from the DSP and the 1-3/4" circle punch for the sentiment. I used the retired Whimsical Words SS and stamped the sentiment using Perfect Plum ink.

Fall Fun Blog Hop!

This was such a great idea. I created this card for this fun little blog hop! I also created it for a challenge for Sketch Frenzy Friday. I am all about the multi-tasking! For this card I started with a 5" x 10"x piece of Soft Suede CS and scored it at 5". I used the Medallion Stamp and stamped it in Close to Cocoa and used it as the center focal point for this card. I then took Lucky Limeade CS and cut it at 1-1/4" x 5" and used the Final Press Embossing folder to add detail. I took Soft Suede Polka Dot Ribbon and layered it on top of the Lucky Limeade CS. I used the Leaves #2 die and Cajun Craze CS and cut out the leaf images and embossed them with the Final Press folder. I used the new 2-3/8" Scallop Circle on another piece of Cajun Craze CS and embossed it as well and took images from the Falling Leaves SS and stamped them on a piece of Very Vanilla CS with Cajun Craze ink and used the Extra Large Oval punch to punch the images together. For the inside of the card I cut a piece of Very Vanilla CS at 4-3/4" x 4-3/4" and stamped the sentiment in Cajun Craze from the Falling Leaves SS. I used the maple leaf cut die and used dimensionals to place on the inside of the card.

Two Challenge Card

I created this card for Paper Players Birthday themed challenge as well as the Inkspirations Sketch Challenge.
For this card I started with a base A2 card in Rich Razzleberry. I then took Greenhouse Gala DSP cut at 3-1/4" x 5" and layered it on top of the Rich Razzleberry. I then took a piece of Marina Mist cut at 2" x 5" and placed that as the final layer. I took a piece of Chocolate Chip Taffeta ribbon and used it as the side layer cut at 5". I used Pumpkin Pie and the Lace Ribbon Border punch with Brights buttons as the bottom element. I used the CM Happiest Birthday Wishes Hostess SS for the sentiment stamped on Very Vanilla CS and placed with dimensionals on a piece of Greenhouse Gala DSP punched with the 1-3/4" scallop circle.
Thank you for looking, I had a great time making this card and being able to combine 2 challenges into 1.

HSS Challenge #82

Hello and Happy Tuesday! I am getting back into the swing of things, working full time and crafting! Today's card comes from Handstamped Sentiments. This one was a challenge for me as I love to add different colors and not keep with the same one. I decided since my wedding is coming up in 3 months and Chocolate Brown is our main color I would use Chocolate Chip as my color inspiration! I used a standard A2 card (4-1/4" x 5/1/2") in Chocolate Chip. I then cut a 4" x 5" piece of Very Vanilla to create the stage for the card. I used Delicate Doilies (my favorite new stamp set) to stamp images across the front of the card in of course Chocolate Chip ink. I then took Chocolate Chip Taffeta ribbon and layered it across the bottom. I used the Leaves #2 Die cut and embossed with the Final Press embossing folder. I added dimension with Stampin Dimensionals to this card. I have now found a new love for Chocolate Chip and have inspiration for my upcoming wedding to get to work on our favors! SPCC Color Challenge #114

Sorry I have been MIA for a week. It was the first week back to school for the kids and I came home pretty tired each night. I have also been fighting a little bit of a stomach bug so it was hard to get out of bed or off the couch to get some creating done!
Today I decided I would go blog searching and came across another great color challenge from SPCC.
For this one I decided to create a 3D project using no stamp sets!! I know craziness! I focused solely on the Big Shot for this one. I used the Fancy Favor, and Baskets and Blooms Large Die and the Polka Dot embossing die. I also used the Thank you Embosslit die to create the Thanks portion on the front. I started first with the Fancy Favor Die with Daffodil Delight and used that as the base for the basket. I then used the Baskets and blooms die and embossed with the Polka Dot Embossing folder before placing it on the favor bag base. I used the new 3-3/8" Scalloped Circle punch and embossed that with the polka dots to create the center for the Thanks label die. I used the Lace Ribbon border punch to create a ribbon effect on the bag. I hope you enjoy this project.

Halloween Stamp Class

I will be offering a Halloween Stamp Class Saturday, September 24th from 9:30am-11:30am. In this class we will be making a Gate Fold Card, Halloween Treat Box, and Halloween Candy Wrappers. The cost of the class is $10 and will include all supplies, you just need to bring adhesive, scissors, and a bone folder. Inkspirations Sketch Challenge #83

I love this card I created for a sketch challenge from Inkspirations! I had wanted to use my Greenhouse Gala DSP again for a card and found this one was the perfect challenge for it.

I decided to create a standard A2 card (4-1/4" x 5-1/2") and incorporate a lot of greens to this card. I started by using Mellow Moss as the base color of the card. I then took a strip of Pumpkin Pie to do the vertical strips of CS and layered patterns from the DSP on top. I then used the Bright Flower patterns for the horizontal strip to bring some "pop" of color to the card. I used the Hostess Faith in Nature SS for this one. I just love the images in this set. I used my Beautiful Butterflies die and a piece of Old Olive CS for the larger butterfly image. I then used the Polka Dot embossing folder to add texture to the larger butterfly. I used the small butterfly punch for the smaller layered butterfly on this image. I stamped the images using Pumpkin Pie ink.
I just LOVE this DSP and am sad it is retired, but I am going to have a lot of fun using what I have left!

Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge 217

Hello and Happy Sunday! I know it has been almost a week since my last post! I have been so busy getting back into the swing of things, I realize how much I miss having the lazy time of summer! This morning I have been busy crafting away making some new cards! This card comes to us from a challenge created by Stamping 411.

I LOVE the new Delicate Doilies SS and have been going crazy with this one! For this card I used retired Sweet Slumber DSP for the patterned paper. I used a standard A2 card (4-1/4" x 5-1-/2") to create this card. I used Daffodil Delight, and Real Red CS as my standard base color. I stamped a 4-1/2" x 3-1/2" piece of Real Red CS using Cherry Cobbler ink with one of the Doilie images as a background. I then stamped the background doilie for the main image using Crushed Curry. I used Pacific Point to stamp the sentiment in the middle using the Hostess Happiest Birthday Wishes SS. I used a Bashful Blue Grossgrain ribbon at the bottom of the card.
I had a great time creating this card and it felt good to get back into the swing of things!

Inkspirations Color Challenge #82

Hello and Happy Tuesday! I was able to get a little crafting done after the first day back to work. This one I made for this week's color challenge from Inkspirations.

I have really gotten into the It's A Wrap Occasions SS (item #123592). I thought for this challenge I would incorporate the colors from this challenge into making a little goodie box for an upcoming birthday.
I used the Matchbox die with Kraft Paper and Marina Mist CS. I used Kraft for the bottom of the box and Marina Mist for the top portion. I then ran the top portion through the Striped embossing folder to create added texture. I stamped the sentiments with Cajun Craze ink and wrapped around the candies. I used the Create a Cupcake punch and Create A Cupcake SS(item #121982) for the stamped image on the front of the box and added some Cajun Craze Striped Grosgrain Ribbon.

Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge 216

Well today is my last day off before I go back to work tomorrow. I have really enjoyed my summer and being able to create so many wonderful cards. I will still be creating, just not as often, will try to post a new project every 2-3 days. Before I cut down a my crafting a little I had to share this cute creation I made for Stamping411 blog challenge, http://stamping411.blogspot.com/
I used Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, and Whisper White as my color palette. For this creation I used a 5" x 5" card in Basic Black. I then used SU Textured plates and the small oval punch to create the pumpkin. I embossed the background 4-1/2" x 4-12" Old Olive paper with the Spider Web embossing folder. I used the new Scaredy Cat SS (item #122557) for this project to create the sentiment. I used Black satin ribbon as well as polka dot scalloped Tangerine Tango ribbon as additional elements on the card. I used the Lace Border punch for the side element.
I had a lot of fun creating this one. I love playing with different textures!

Halloween Letterpress Card using Stampin Up New Letterpress Plate

Oh my goodness I am totally loving the letterpress plate. I just got mine and after a long day of card making I decided I had to test it out before I was done with card making tonight. So here it is! I used the Trick or Treat Letterpress plate (item120980) and used Black Craftin ink. I used Old Olive, Dusty Durango (retired) and Basic Black. The card is a standard A2 (4-1/4" x 5-1/2")

Sketch Frenzy Friday Challenge#080511

OH MY GOODNESS, I LOVE THIS SET! Thank you SFF, http://www.sketchfrenzyfriday.blogspot.com/ for bringing this great sketch to us and allowing me to really play with my new Delicate Doilies SS, (item122592) I had so much fun incorporating these colors and stamps. I started with a standard A2 (4-1/4" x 5/1/2") card using Melon Mambo. I then took retired Going Gray and layered on top cut at 5" x 4". I then layered a piece of retired Lovely Lilac on top cut at 5" x 2-1/2", I then went back to Melon Mambo cut at 5" x 1-3/4". I stamped all CS using different doilies from the SS. I then used the Lace Ribbon Border Punch and Going Gray paper and layered that on top. I place 2 Basic Pearl Jewels to the right and left of the stamped sentiment from the retired Whimsical Words S. I loved this creation and think it is one of my favorites! This stamp set let me have a lot of fun!

I knew it was going to be a busy day! I am having fun with my new stamps and thought I would make this card using the new It's A Wrap Holidays and Out On A Limb SS. These sets will be available in the new Holiday Mini available to order Sept. 1st! I am working on my upcoming class projects and can't wait to share them with you. This was a card I made just for fun! The color patterns for this one were Cajun Craze, Basic Black, and Whisper White. I used the Spider Web embossing folder to add a little more of a spooky feel!

Wedding Favor Box

Hello and Happy Friday! I can't believe the summer has gone by so quickly and it is back to work on Monday. Before I have to cut some of my crafting time in half I am cranking them out today! Here is a wedding favor box I made for a couple of reasons. First I am getting married at the end of the year and we are going to make our favors for our guests. I have been playing around with a few ideas and SUO, http://suochallenges.com/ came up with this challenge about using your favorite NEW stamp sets. I just got my order in yesterday and I ordered the "It's A Wrap Occasions" for the purpose of making our wedding favors. So today I busted out this stamp set and bought some Nugget candies and went to work. I used the Matchbox die for this one with Chocolate Chip CS. I then ran the top portion of the matchbox through the Polka Dot Embossing folder. I used the It's a Wrap SS in Wisteria Wonder to stamp the images. I used the new Lace Ribbon Border punch to create the wrap around the box in Wisteria Wonder. These are actually our wedding colors so I wanted to see how it would come together. HSS Challenge #79 Back to School

I had so much fun making the treat bag for another challenge, I must thank HSS, http://handstampedsentiments.blogspot.com/ for doing another school theme challenge that allowed me to make another version of the bag using more retired DSP that I love.

For this challenge I looked deep into my stockpile of DSP and found this retired set, Sleep Slumber Specialty DSP. I cut the same CS as before a 3" x 10-1/5" piece of the CS then layered the same size CS in Very Vanilla so the inside did not show the other side of the DSP. I took Crushed Curry Polka Dot Ribbon and placed it at the top. I cut the ribbon to 4" to allow room to go around the edges. I then cut a piece of 3" Night of Navy CS and used the eyelet border punch to create the edge on the bag. I used Window Sheet material for the whole and used the 1-3/4" circle punch to create the window. I love the First Day and Apple Blossoms SS for this bag. Am thinking I am going to fill these little goodie bags with some miniature chocolates to welcome the teachers back to school!

SPCC Color Challenge #112

Hello and Happy Hump Day! Today's creation comes from a color challenge from SPCC, http://spcolorcombos.thescrapmaster.com/

For this challenge I made a basic A2 (4/12' x 5-1/2") card using Soft Suede as the base. I incorporated a lot of textures with this card. I cut a piece of Island Indigo CS to 4" x 5" and ran it through the Big Shot using the Square Lattice Embossing folder. I then took Melon Mambo CS and used the Fun Flowers Die cut and used the larger flower. I placed the flower in the Final Press Embossing folder and attached an embossed piece of Soft Suede (using the square lattice folder) to the middle of the flower. I stamped the image from the Vintage Vogue SS and used the 1-3/58" circle punch to place it as the center focal point of the flower. I took Soft Suede Polka Dot Grossgrain ribbon and attached it to the Island Indigo embossed CS. The small Melon Mambo scallop circle was embossed using the Final Press folder. I added that to the right bottom corner of the card using Stampin Dimensionals. I then used the Extra Large Tag punch and attached the sentiment from the retired Whimsical Words SS with Stampin Dimensionals. I used a sponge to sponge more Melon Mambo ink on the CS.
This card was fun to make and will be given to a friend for their birthday! Thank you SPCC for a great color challenge!

Sketch Frenzy Friday Challenge #072911

I had a great time digging into my old DSP for this one. I pulled out my Rockabilly DSP and forgot how much I loved this series of paper. I created a larger card for this one 5-1/2" by 11 and used Basic Black CS for the base of this card and scored it at 5-1/2". I then used my Big Clear Scallop Square Die cut for the background using the adorable cherry portion of the DSP. I took 1" Double Stiched Grossgrain ribbon in Real Red and layered with Basic Black DSP and the Rockabilly DSP green stripe. I added black brads to the center to give it an extra element. I used the brand new Easy Events SS for the stamped image. I colored in with Watercolor crayons and used the Blender Pen. I used Old Olive to distress the edges of the stamped sentiment. Paper Players School Days Challenge

Hello and Happy Tuesday! Today I worked on a challenge for Paper Players, http://thepaperplayers.blogspot.com/. This week it was their school days challenge

I decided I would create this treat bag for the challenge. I work in a school and have been thinking of a welcome back gift I could bring some of my fellow co-workers and thought this challenge would be the perfect way to bring on the creativity! Here is the treat bag:

I used retired Rockabilly DSP to layered on top of Real Red CS to create a sturdy base for this treat bag. I cut both pieces of CS 3 x 12". I used Snail to adhere the DSP to the CS. I scored the paper at 4-1/2", 6-1/2" and 10-1/5". I cut a piece of Brilliant Blue CS to 3-1/2" and used the Eyelet Border punch to create another border for the top of the bag. I used the Scallop Circle and Oval punches to be a base for the stamped images. I used the small oval and 1-3/8" circle punch to stamp the images on. Images are from First Day SS and Apple Blossoms Hostess set. I used Polka Dot Crushed Curry ribbon for accents. Stampin Dimensionals were used to add dimension to this bag. You can place a cello bag inside filled with whatever goodies you would like. Thank you for looking and thank you Paper Players for a great challenge!

Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge

Hello and Happy Monday again! I have been busy searching the blogs and finding ways to challenge myself creatively. I came across another great sketch challenge from Stamping 411 http://stamping411.blogspot.com/
I am going to a get together for a co-worker of mine that is leaving our school. I decided to dig through the DSP and found this Elegant Soiree DSP that would be perfect to create a card for a male. For this project I used embossing, ribbon, and my favorite...punches. I used the Scallop trim border bunch under the Close to Cocoa paper. I used Chocolate Chip Taffeta ribbon for the ribbon element. I used the Travel Log SS for the sentiment. I decided not to add any additional stamps because I liked the way the Final Press embossing folder added just what the card needed to keep it simple. This card was a lot of fun to make, these are the products I used to make the card: Final Press Embossing Folder (item 115963), Scallop Trim Punch (item 118402) and Travel Log CM stamp set (item 123082)

Inkspirations Challenge #81

For this challenge I had to pull out my favorite color pattern: Old Olive, Not Quite Navy, and So Saffron. For this challenge I used the Pretty Postage SS from the summer mini. I also used my favorite large stamp, the Medallion. I inked the background of the Old Olive card with Versamark and stamped an image of the Medallion as the background. I then took Whisper White paper and using the Baby Wipe Technique stamped the Medallion with on Whisper White CS. I layered the looks as the sketch illustrates. I used my 1-3/4" circle punch to create the circle images on this card. I used the punch pack flower for the upper right of the card and placed a brad in the center of each one. I had a great time with this card, thank you again Inkspirations for another great challenge.

Card Share for Downline Meeting

I loved the Halloween Gate Card I did with House of Haunts so much and the reitred Cast A Spell DSP I decided to use it as my theme for the card swap we are doing at our next downline meeting. HSS Fancy Fold Challenge

I created this Gate Fold Card using a template I found on SplitCoast Stampers: www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/gate_fold_card
HSS created a great challenge this week allowing me to practice some of these folding techniques. Visit them at: http://handstampedsentiments.blogspot.com/
I used some older Halloween DSP to create this card called Cast A Spell. I used the pumpkins as the side layers for the card and the back with the orange background on the inside of the card.

I then used the old DSP Groom paper and cut out a large 2-1/8" Scalloped Circle and band to wrap around the card. I continued with the scallop circles and cut them out at 1-7/8", and 1-9/16". I layered each circle using Stamping Dimensionals between each layer to add depth. I used the House of Haunts (item #111574) SS for all stamped images.

I used Rich Razzleberry CS as the base for the card and Very Vanilla on the inside to stamp the images. I used Polka Dot Rich Razzleberry Grossgrain ribbon on the band to add additional layers to the card. I have been feeling very Halloweeny lately! Stamping 411 Color Challenge

This challenge uses the new 2011 In Colors Pool Party, Calypso Coral, and Island Indigo. I used a sketch from a card I receieved from my upline Cheryl http://www.createwithcheryl.com/ using the Fifth Avenue Floral SS (item #113734). Island Indigo was the base for this card, I then layered Calypso Coral and an embossed Manhattan Flower Pool Party cardstock on top. I used twill tape and a piece of Calypso coral to create the ribbon effect on the card and layered a sponged and stamped Manhattan Flower on top using Stamping Dimensionals. Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge

I decided for this sketch I would go with a Halloween theme as I am getting ready to gear up for the holiday season! I used Graveyard Gala, and House of Haunts SS for this card. I used Basic Black cardstock as the base and used the scallop border punch to cut the bottom of the card. I then took a 1" piece of Rich Razzleberry to highlight the bottom of the card. I used the scallop border punch to createe the square holding the stamped skull print. Basic Black ink was used for all stamped images. I took polka dot grossgrain ribbon for my ribbon element and adhered it to the back of the Pumpkin Pie cardstock. SUO Get Well Challenge

I created this card for the SUO Get Well Challenge for this week, http://suochallenges.com/.

I used the baby wipe technique for this card using the Medallion stamp. I took Old Olive, So Saffron, and Not Quite Navy ink to create this effect. I started with Old Olive as my base card and used Versamark to stamp the Medallion on the base card. I then used the baby wipe stamped image paper as the next layer. For the bottom of the card I layered Not Quite Navy, So Saffron 7/8" ribbon, and another portion of the baby wipe stamped image paper. I used the Sincere Salutations SS for the sentiment of the card. To create the sentiment I used So Saffron paper punched with the 1-3/4" circle 2 times to create a base for the Get Well image. Thank you again for looking and happy stamping!

HSS Flourish Challenge

I got to use my Wedding Sweet SS for this one and old DSP called Cottage Wall to create this Flourish Design. I used Old Olive, Lovely Lilac (retired) and Soft Suede for this card. I used Perfect Plum and Old Olive ink to stamp the images. I used chocolate chip taffeta ribbon to add a little element to this card. I thought this card could be simple and clean but still make a statement! Hope you enjoy and Happy Monday!

For this week's challenge I had a friend of mine who recently had to put her dog to sleep and with the sketch challenge I thought I would incorporate making a card that could go with it. I used the D Is For Dog and Thoughts And Prayers SS for this card. I love adding Stampin Dimensionals to add depth to the cards. Paper Players Sketch Challenge

This has been a great Monday, have been able to get 2 of the 3 challenges I wanted to do today done! This one comes from Paper Players! www.thepaperplayers.blogspot.com and is the clean and simple challenge. I love clean and simple cards and this one let me create a larger square style card. I used Melon Mambo as the base color for the card and then layered Sunny Day Simply Scrapping DSP and Chocolate Chip paper using the Clear Scalloped Square Die Cut. I then took Bermuda Bay and Whisper White to stamp the image. I used the Birds and Blooms die cuts to create the side images. Stampin Dimensionals really helped to bring out the dimensional effect I wanted to accomplish with this card. I used the Vintage Vogue SS and decided to combine stamp colors to give the images additional effects. I used Melon Mambo and Bermuda Bay ink pads for the stamped images. Stampin 411 Sketch Challenge

Happy Monday! I got a little bit of card making in today! I had a busy day full of errands. I set my card to do list and this one was at the top. Here is another sketch challenge brought to us by Stamping411 www.stamping411.blogspot.com
For this challenge I got out the Greenhouse Gala DSP because I love the color pattern. I started with a Tempting Turquoise as the base card. I then took the Tangerine Tango and embossed it using the Final Press Embossing folder. I then layerd Old Olive Grossgrain ribbon on top to tie the 2 pieces of paper together. I used the eyelet border punch in Tempting Turquoise the add another layer. I used the Fun Flowers die to create the flower using Chocolate Chip as the large part of the flower then layering with Tangerine Tango and Tempting Turquoise. For the stamped sentiment I used the Movers and Shapers Die to cut the label with Chocolate Chip again as the background the Whisper White for the image stamped with Old Olive from the Whimsical Words stamp set. Inkspirations Sketch Challenge

I really let my Big Shot take over on this card. I started with a base card using Regal Rose. I then took a sheet of Baja Blue and used the Square Lattice Embossing folder to create the second layer. I took old DSP and used the Scalloped Envelope Die to place the envelope on top of the embossed paper. I used the Fun Flowers die in Pink Pirouette and placed them inside the envelope. I created the bottom layering pattern starting with Pink Pirouette then adding So Saffron Ribbon on top. I used the Because I Care SS for the stamped image and used the small oval punch placed on top of cut rectangle pieces. I really enjoyed making this card. I love my Big Shot and this card let me use many different shapes and textures! Thank you and happy crafting!

SUO Kids Theme Challenge

This week I checked out the challenge going on at SUO www.suochallenges.com and found a cute one that went perfectly with my career! It was a kids theme challenge. I decided to bust out the old First Day SS and let the juices flow! For this card layering was my key focus. I started with Daffodil Delight as my base card. I then added Real Red and Marina Mist to the palette. I used the retired Spiral Border punch to give the edge a little flare. I used Marina Mist grossgrain ribbon to add an edge to the paper effect. I then stamped my favorite images from the set. For the background to the oval and circle punches I used the retired Sale O Bration Good Neighbor paper and used the grid looking side to give it that notebook feel. I colored the images with Brights watercolor crayons and used the Blender Pen to complete the look. Thank you for a fun challenge!

HSS Summer Theme Challenge

It was for a summer theme card. I decided to use my favorite In Colors, Melon Mambo, Soft Suede, Crushed Curry, and Bermuda Bay. I also used the Tropical Party SS and the Island Floral die cut. I decided I wanted to use bright and cheery colors to help represent summer. I also thought the image of a cool coconut drink would be fitting to have by the pool or beach :)

Hello and Happy Thursday! Was in a crafting mood and wanted to try out a few new color combos and shapes. I decided to make this birthday themed card using Rich Razzleberry, Soft Suede, and Old Olive. I also used older DSP paper as the center focal point for the card. I used thd Big Shot Top Note die cut to center all the elements up on the card. I stamped images using the Big Bold Birthday SS. I cut out the images to create the cupcake and balloons on the card. I added Stampin Dimensionals to the cupcake, balloons, scalloped oval and stamped "make a wish" oval to add additional dimension to the project. I loved putting these colors together, hope you enjoy!

Sketch Frenzy Blog Challenge

I was in a card making mood this morning. After searching the craft blogs again I came across another blog challenge. This one was a sketch challenge. I used Soft Suede as the base color for the card. I then took Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry and used those colors as layering components to this card. I used Crushed Curry Polka Dot Grossgrain ribbon to add diversity to the color palette. I used layering and Stampin Dimensionals to add some pop and dimension to the card. Punches of course are my favorite and I used circle punches and for the stamped image. I cut the rectangle images for the sentiment. I used the Apple Blossoms SS. Hope you enjoy!

Bride and Groom Card

I made this card today playing around with some different bride and groom combinations. I have a wedding to go to this coming weekend and haven't decided on what card to make. I saw this at: http://www.loristamps.com/lori_stamps/2009/09/bride-and-groom-card.html
and decided to add my own flare to it. I used Melon Mambo as the base color for the card. I also used the Bride and Groom Specialty paper to cut out the dress and tuxedo. I used pearl accents and some bling to add to the dress and tuxedo. I used the Elegent Lines embossing folder to give the background card a little extra something. For the stamped sentiment I used the Occasional Quotes SS. I took 2 scalloped circle punches and added them together to creae the background for the stamped image. Hope you enjoy and Happy Monday!

Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge

I decided to make use of the new Brights paper pack I got along with the Greenhouse Gala DSP. I used Old Olive as the base color for this card and embossed a second sheet using the Final Press folder and added it to the top of the original Old Olive background by using Stampin Dimensionals. I then cut paper in Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie for the sidebar colors. I used Old Olive Striped Grossgrain Ribbon for the ribbon element of this sketch. I used the Top Note and Big Beautiful Butterflies die for the other elements of this card. The stamped sentiment was from the Picture This SS and of course I love my Scalloped Oval punch! Had a great time with this one, hope you all enjoy!

Inkspirations Color Challenge

I LOVE these colors! Purple is my favorite color and to be able to use these colors together really made my day! For this card I used the Textured Rose Red as the base card. I cut it to 4 1/4" by 5 1/2". I then took Kraft paper and used the Perfect Place Setting Die to cut the base layer. I cut pieces of Perfect Plum and Very Vanilla to layer on top. I used Birthday Bakery SS for the stamped image. I used the Big Bold Cupcakes die for the focal piece of this card. I used Kraft embossed with the Final Press embossing folder as the base for the cupcake. I embossed the Perfect Plum icing portio of the cupcake with the square lattice folder. I then used Very Vanilla as the base of the cupcake and used Stampin Dimensionals to add the heart! Hope you enjoy the card! Thank you Inkspirations for another great challenge.

HSS Theme Challenge

It was a late night last night. I was busy searching the blogs for new challenges. This card was a simple card I wanted to create by just getting back to the basics. I made the sun using the cicle scallop punch and the 1 3/8" circle punch. I used the Cheap Talk SS to create the "cloud" stamped image using the scallop oval punch. U used Bermuda Bay, Cruched Curry, Soft Suede, and Cajun Craze for the color pallete of this card to create the sky and ground effect. I used ribbon from the Elementary Ribbon Originals set. SPCC Color Challenge

A new craft blog I found late last night. This one was a lot of fun to do. I love the use of the different oranges and accenting them with the vanilla. For this challenge I used Pumpkin Pie as my base card color. I then took a piece of Very Vanilla and used the Eyelet border punch to create the edge to separate the Cajun Craze and Pumpkin pie colors. I used the Square Lattice embossing folder to add texture to the Cajun Craze piece. I took the 5 Petal Flower punch and used a sponge to apply Pumpkin Pie ink to the Very Vanilla cardstock. I added a flower brad in Pumpkin Pie to each flower. I took Pumpkin Pie Ribbon and added it to the bottom of the card. I used the circle scallop punch to stamp the sentiment onto using the It's the Thought SS. Happy Friday and I hope you enjoy!

Happy Monday, I am happily searching the craft blogs this week and found a great challenge by Stamping 411. I love sketch challenges because they can be simple or extreme depending on what moves you as the creator. I loved this challenge because I could use basic and simple designs for this card. I decided after my weekend celebrating my friend's upcoming wedding I would stick to a wedding themed card for this challenge. I decided to use the Occasional Quotes SS for the stamped image. I used Melon Mambo as my basic background paper for this challenge. I then alternated the Bride and Groom Specialty paper to create the rest of this layout with an older DSP page. I used neutral fancy fibers for the ribbon on this card. I really had a lot of fun sticking to simplicity for this one. Thank you Stamping 411 for the challenge. Hope you enjoy!

Bachelorette Card

I made this card for a friend of mine who is getting married in 2 weeks. We just had her bachelorette party and they held a lingerie shower prior to the night's festivities. I used a damask paper from Little Yellow Bicycle and put a pink background paper as the base. I then took some black lace to trim the bra and panties. This card was a big hit at the party. Hope you enjoy!

I decided I would make a birthday themed card for this challenge and use watercolor crayons to highlight the main focal point. I started with Pumpkin Pie for the base color and then layered other blues and yellows that were in the DSP. I used Brocade Blue, and So Saffron for the other colors. I used the Something to Celebrate and Birthday Bakery Stamp Sets for this card. I loved the layering concept and thought for this card I would stick to colors that were in the same color palette. SUO Challenge SUmmer Anniversary

Happy Friday! I was of course blogging today and came across this challenge for an anniversary themed card. I loved using non traditional colors to create this card. I used Brocade Blue, and Daffodil Delight for the base color patterns. I used an older DSP paper that I got at a recent SU party I went to and used that as the background patterned paper. I used the Bliss SS for the stamped image. I had a great time using my favoire die, cut Fun Flowers. I also embossed the solid flower pieces using the Elegant Lines embossing folder. I used Crystal Effects in the center of the flower to give it a little extra something. I chose to use the Top Note die cute on the DSP to give the card a center focal point. I used Taffeta ribbon in Chocolate chip at the bottom of the top note. This card was so much fun to make and I hope you enjoy!

I was busy craft blogging again and came across the Stampin411 blog and found there challenge for the week. Unfortunetly I did not make the cut off time but decided to continue on with the challenge. I really enjoyed this layout. I wanted to incorporate blue and purple together with some silver and cream highlighting papers. I used embossing for the design from the Bliss SS. HSS Button Challenge

I used the Garden Gala DSP for this card as well as the brights buttons. I used embossing powder for the stamped images on the card. Paper Players Christmas in July Challenge

This card was a lot of fun. I used punches. embossing, and sparkle to give this color life! The color palette for this piece is Soft Suede, Real Red, Old Olive, and Whisper White. I used the Patterned Pines, Many Merry Messages, and Snow Swirled to create this project. I used Versamark to create the background snowflake stamps. I used black embossing powder on the Merry Christmas. I used snow stickles for the white snow mounds under the trees. I used the scalloped border punch on the tag for the Merry Christmas. Hand Stamped Sentiments Charm Challenge

I am new to the charms on cards but looked through what I had to create this cute little card. I used the Stampin Up notecard as the base of the card and distressed the edges with Pixie Pink. I then used the Beautiful Wings Embosslet to cut out the butterflies. I used the Apple Blossoms stamp set for the sentiment and the word window punch to cut it out. I used the Damask textured plate for the background of the So Saffron cardstock. For the charm I took a square tag and inked the background with Pixie Pink then placed a Filigree brad as the charm. I took Polka dot Bermuda Bay grossgrain ribbon as the highlight of the charm. Hope you enjoy, I love these challenges!

Paper Players Sketch Challenge

Happy Monday, I am starting my week off right, with some new challenge creations. This week I found a new blog challenge to take part in. This one is from Paper Players. This card was inspired by their sketch challenge. I used So Saffron cardstock as my base card and cut it as a 4.25" by 5.5" card. I then took paper from the Razzleberry Lemonade Paper Kit to create the bordering papers. I cut the background pink paper 4" by 5" and then layered 3 1.25" strips on the page. I used the Fun Flower Die cut and used the Final Press embossing folder to add some texture to the flower. I used the Oval Stamp Set for the sentiment with the small and scalloped oval punch. I distressed the edges of the card with So Saffron ink and stamped the image using Rich Razzleberry. To add an additional "pop" of color I used tempting turquoise paper paper for the middle flower and Bermuda Bay polka dot ribbon. Hope you enjoy!

Hand Stamped Sentiments Theme Challenge

This week Hand Stamped Sentiments sent out a theme challenge for the Fourth Of July. I decided to create a card for this challenge. I used a variety of products for this challenge, but all paper and stamps were from Stampin Up. The color scheme for this card was Real Red, Whisper White, Brilliant Blue, Brocade Blue, and Bashful Blue. I cut a 4.25" by 5.5" piece of cardstock as the background for the card. I then cut a 4" by 5" piece of textured Whisper White cardstock. I used the crimper and ran a 2" by 5" piece of Brocade Blue cardstock through it to create the bottom border. I added Double Stiched Grossgrain Red ribbon and Bashful Blue grossgrain ribbon to the top of the crimped piece. I took the scalloped oval punch and created the background for the "4th" lettering. I used the cricut "Plantin Schoolbook" cartridge to write the "4th". I used star punches from Creative Memories to create the stars on the card. The "Marvelous" came from the "In A Word" stamp set. This card was a lot of fun to make for this challenge. I loved incorporating different products to make this card. Hope you enjoy!

Inkspirations Sketch Challenge #75

I love doing these sketch challenges and found this one to be a lot of fun. I started off with a 4.25" by 5.5" Basic Grey card. I then cut a 4" by 5" piece of Close to Cocoa and used the eyelet border punch and the Elegant Bouquet embossing folder. I used the circle scissors set at 2" to cut the patterned paper. I used the Sweet Pea stitched felt for the flower and the tag punch for the words. I used the "Slice of Life" and "Occasional Quotes" stamp sets for this project. I had a lot of fun and hope you enjoy this one!

Scrapbook Pages

I decided to take the day yesterday and work on some scrapbooking that has been long overdue. I used basic principles for this one just decided to due simple patterns and paper. For the Snow Day pages I took the snowflake punch and die from Stampin Up and used a sponge and ink to create my own background for the snowflakes on the paper. I find sometimes the simpler the mroe profound! I hope you enjoy! I used products from a variety of different companies for these pages.

I was feeling a little crafty this morning and decided to create this card focusing on punches and embossing. Basic Grey, Lovely Lilac Soft Suede, and Old Olive were my color choices. I used the Final Press embossing folder on the background Lovely Lilac and on the flowers. I used the Scallop Trim border punch on the background Lovely Lilac to create the border. I used a Chocolate Chip Corduroy brad for the center of the flowe and highlighted the flowers using pastels. I used the "Occasional Quotes" stamp set for the stamped image using the large and scalloped oval punch and again using pastels to lightly highlight the paper. I used Soft Suede polka dot grossgrain ribbon for the bottom highlight of the card. Hope you enjoy and thanks for looking!

Birthday Card/Gift Card Holder

I decided to make a full size card 5.5" by 4.25" and make it a gift card holder. I used Brilliant Blue, Real Red, Whisper White, and Crushed Curry as my color palette. I used watercolor pencils and the blender pen to color the cake. For the inside of the card I cut a 4" wide by 2.14" and used the scalloped square die to create the pocket. I adhered the pocket with Snail adhesive and added Real Red Polka dot grossgrain ribbon, but used the other side at the bottom of the pocket. This card was a lot of fun and challenging! Inkspiraions Color Challenge

I created this card for the color challenge put out by Inkspirations. I cut a 5.5" by 4.25' card in Old Olive as the base of the card. I then used Old Olive ink to distress the edges. I cut a 5" by 4" piece of Melon Mambo paper and again used Melon Mambo ink to distress edges. I used the Final Press Embossing folder for the flowers and used the Fun Flowers Big Shot die for the main piece of the card. I used the postage punch and "Pretty Postage" stamp set for the stamped image in Old Olive. I used Crystal Effects on the center of the flower to add a little gloss look at used Stampin Dimensionals for the "pop". Hope you enjoy, had fun with another great challenge!

Father's Day Card

I created this card for my father and my fiancee's father. I used Stampin Up's "King of the Grill" stamp set for the focus of this project. Color selections were Old Olive, Not Quite Navy, and Real Red. I cut the Not Quite Navy card to be 5.5" by 4.25". I then layered a 5" by 4" piece of Old Olive using the Big Shot "square lattice" embossing folder on top. I then layered Real Red cardstock, followed by Whisper White with the stamped image. I used watercolor crayons, blender pen, and stampin pastels to create the colors on the stamped image. I followed it up with the small oval punch stamped image and the scalloped oval punch stamped image for the "Happy Father's Day." I used Stampin Dimensionals to create the "pop". Hope you enjoy!

Inskpirations Sketch Challenge #73

I was surfing the Stampin Up blogs today and came across this sketch challenge. I decided to use the "Sunny Day" Simply Scrappin kit paper to complete this challenge. I used Old Olive cardstock as the base of this card and cut it 5.5" by "8.5" and scored it at "4.25" I then took a strip of the patterned border from the kit and layed it across the 5.5" top. I then cut a patterned paper square 3.75" by 3.75" as the larger square layer, then followed it up with a 2.75" by 2.75" square and layered on top. I then took the scalloped square sticker from the kit and placed it on the 2.75" by 2.75" Old Olive paper. I used the "Vintage Vogue" stamp on the scalloped square to create the flower stamp with Melon Mambo ink. To the right corner I used another sticker from the kit and used the Melon Mambo Stampin Write marker to stamp "take a moment" from the "It's The Thought" stamp set. I love the bright colors from this kit and really find they go with summer! Hope you enjoy! I really enjoyed this sketch challenge!

Sympathy Card for a Friend

I created this card today when I learned of a friend who had a death in the family. I used the "Because I Care" and "Thoughts and Prayers" stamp sets to create this card. On the outside I used the oval scallop punch to create the label. I hand cut the flower and used Stampin Dimensionals to create extra pop to the card. I inked the edges of the card to give it a distressed look. I used Lovely Lilac and Basic Grey for the color scheme. I used Whisper White Taffeta ribbon for the top.

Blog Hop Pinwheel Challenge

For the next challenge in the U Stamp with Dawn World Showcase Blog Hop Challenge, we had to use a pinwheel layout as our inspiration. I loved the ideas of the pinwheel so I created a page and card for this challenge, Again all products has to be from Stampin Up.
For the card I used 1 notecard that is 5" x 3 1/2". I used the "Sunny Day" Simply Scrappin kit patterned and textured cardstock. The pinwheels were created from using the postage punch and mini glue dots. I used the "Vintage Vogue" stamp set and Stampin Dimensionals to give the card a little "pop"
For the page I used the same paper color scheme. I added Crushed Curry Polka Dot Grossgrain Ribbon to both projects and for the center of the pinwheels I used a Pumpkin Pie Cordurouy button. For the background I used Versamark and the "Medallion" stamp.
These challenges are so much fun and I am happy to share them with you.

U Stamp Challenge Card

This is the card I created for the U Stamp with Dawn World Showcase Challenge. The rules were to use 100% Stampin Up products and use the blog challenge image as inspiration. I chose to use the color pallette and deisng this card. I used Real Red, Certainly Celery, Very Vanilla, and Bermuda Bay card stock as well matching inks for this card. I used ink to edge the paper on this card to create the antique wash feel to it. I used the butterfly, postage, and scalloped oval punches for this card. I also used the matchbox die to create the celebrate label. I used Stampin Dimensionals to give it some "pop." The stamp set was "matchbox messages." Welcome Home Card

I made this card for a friend of mine who moved into a new home. I used Stampin Up "welcome neighbor" patterned paper and cut it into 2.5" by 2.5" squares. I then used Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo, and Dusty Durango stampin write markers to stamp the house images. These colors were also my color pattern. The background papers were cut into 2.75" by 2.75" squares. I used versamark to create the leave pattern in the background fo the card. I used Matchbox Messages for the celebrate and the matchbox die cut to create the celebrate label. Stampin Dimensionals were used to create a little extra pop! Hope you enjoy this creation!

Bridal Shower Card

A good friend of mine is getting married next month and I am attending her bridal shower this coming weekend. I wanted to make her a handmade card for her fun day. She loves the Damask theme and the color pink. I used patterned paper and hot pink cardstock to create this card. I also used 3d stickers for the extra pop as well as the Heart punch from Stampin Up. I took black lace ribbon and then used a hot pink and black ribbon to create a little extra pop! Enjoy!!

I then incorporated fabric flowers and shapes to give the card more flare. I accented it with a ribbon at the bottom and used Stampin Dimensionals to add the 3D effect. I created this card for a friend of mine who we are throwing a bridal shower for. I created the card and envelope using the "always" stamp set from Stampin Up and the "wedding sweet" set as well. I used the eyelet punch to create part of the border. I added some pearl bling to the card to add a little extra something. Hope you enjoy!

Here is a card I made for a co-worker's baby shower. I used the Cricut Cartridge Potpourrui to create this card. I also used some embellishments from other craft companies to create this card. I thought Stampin Dimensionals would be perfect to make the carriage "pop" on the card!

Wedding Card

This is a card and envelope set I made for a wedding we are going to this weekend. I used embossing folders to create the front of the card and to add the embossing to the upper flap of the envelope. I used scalloped punches to create the accents and a fabric flower to put on the card. The card used their wedding theme colors of different shades of blue.

This is a project I created using Stampin Up Decor Elements To Do and Curly Sign. I wanted a simple and clean look to this one and felt the painted project board and simple ribbon and flower placement added just what I was looking for! Notes Chalkboard

I made this chalkboard using the Stampin Up Sale O Bration "Notes" chalkboard decor elements page. I first colored the background of the Clipboard using craft paint in lavender. I then used some florals and buttons to create the top sidebar. I used stickles to create the jeweled effect on the buttons for the flowers. I used ribbon to frame the boxes around the background paper and put a picture and some fabric butterflies to embellish. Hope you enjoy!
